Personal freedom is about being who
and what you are designed and destined to be and acceptance of
that truth. In acceptance of that truth, old hurts, patterns
and negative programming fall away.
I started this article intending to talk to and about you, the
reader in the third person, but it soon became about me. There
is a saying, Speak Not Of Yourself, but what better way to talk
about empowerment and freedom than to share my own story. So I
am sharing my story rather than hide in the way I have in the past.
For those of you who do not know me, I am a Zone Healer, a chiropractor,
I believe, more importantly I know that true healing occurs on
three levels: physically, mentally and spiritually. However it
has been quite a long journey for me to get here.
In my prior life I worked for The Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn,
NY as a criminal defense attorney working on behalf of the indigent.
I tried a lot of cases with a great deal of success, speaking on
the behalf of those who could not speak up for themselves. With
each win I would lift a glass, too often more than one to celebrate
and then I would lift a few to commensurate the losses. I thought
I would be a Legal Aid lifer. I thought I was happy in court and
in the bar afterwards, after all I was speaking on the behalf of
others. But I was not speaking up for myself; I was not truly
being myself, which is vital to personal empowerment and to achieving
true freedom. I was hiding from life behind a mask. I wore
a suit of armor, my ego to protect me from perceived past hurts. I
was carrying a bag full of emotions: fear, worry anger, prejudice,
criticism, selfishness and so much more that I was not even aware
of. That is an awful lot of negative energy to carry. It
affected my work, my health and my relationships. I did not know
who I was or what I really wanted in my life, so I was living and
constantly experiencing chaos and frustration, which was self created.
I asked myself a series of very important questions; What do I really want in
my life? What am I willing to Be and Do to get what I want? Everything
in my life was getting better or worse, based on my choices, beliefs, inner expectations
and my self-image or a broader image. I did not have an image, and did
not know who I truly was or what I wanted. I had to make a lot of changes, not
easy for me.

I had
to think and feel differently, make different choices. I wanted
to be healthy, happy and I wanted to discover who I was. I
discovered, I am a Soul, made in the image and likeness of
God or Spirit within which is all knowing, is everywhere, and
has all the power. And that power is within me, which is a
truth, my truth.
Acceptance of this truth was the key to achieving whatever I wanted
in life, and whatever you want in your life for you too are a Soul,
made in the image and likeness of God or Spirit. I had to let go
of those old hurts, fears, worries and anger; working instead with
faith and hope which the expectation of positive results, what
I truly wanted. With this new shift in energy, understanding
and awareness I started to change. As I changed my perception of
and relationship to the people, places, situations and things in
my life began to changed.
Ask yourself, “What do I want?” What do you believe
in, have faith in, and have confidence in? What do you expect
from yourself, from Life? Allow yourself to open up to see the
best within you, rise above your old hurts, fears, worries,
and anger. Forgive yourself and others. Accept the goodness with
in you. As a Soul made in the image and likeness of Spirit
or God within, means that within the fabric of your being
you are confident in who and what you are. You are vibrating courage
and you are an expression of unconditional love. Know that
you know this is a truth - your truth - accept it. Then embrace
the change that will come, true personal freedom & true healing.
