Palmistry has come a long away over
the centuries from the fairground gypsy’s flim-flam, to
the highly educated practitioners of today. Employers are now
using palmists and astrologers in ever-increasing numbers for
the assessment of employment potential.
The Confederation of British Industry has expressed disappointment
with the standard psychometric tests for employers, as the stated
8 needed qualities often are not shown on the tests, and the
introversion/extroversion tables are seen as “variable
psychological markers”.
The reaction from the “Employment journal” that many
employers are incapable of assessing jobseekers, has provoked a
reaction against the emphasis given in C.V. writing from jobseekers,
to “sell themselves” and puts the ball back in the
employers court, for themselves to be able to make educated decisions.
With this in mind I was sent this palm print with only the
date of birth, and the name “Nick” to analyze the candidates
potential, for employment with a firm of London high flyers.
The first part of my statement proclaimed that when the print
was taken the candidate had been away fishing, to recover from
jaundice, perhaps from eating shellfish caught on holiday somewhere
hot and sunny. This created a sensation with the employment panel,
but close observation of the print shows, wear on the hand where
a fishing rod would be held, which is a little sunburned, hence
the hot holiday and very important to remember is palm color.
* If the palm centre shows very pale color it indicates anemia.
* A reddy colour, some cardio-vascular difficulty, such as blood
pressure.
* Blue is a lung, vascular or related difficulty.
* A brown colour would indicate constipation, bowel, or some
elimination problem,
* And the yellow pallor shown shows jaundice or other liver difficulty.
The yellow pallor could only be from excess paracetemol consumption,
or drinking pints of beta-carotene, or as I suspect eating dodgy
shellfish.

However, the panel was looking for personality traits, so I
was asked how to enumerate specific incidents. I explained we
may recall specific facts from our past with difficulty, but
we always remember feelings from a particular event which instantly
invoke the feelings that surround it. It is this that is largely
picked up in the palm.
The subject in question, had previously been in manual work
as the hand musculature was quite defined, and although not shown
on the print illustrated, the fingernails were ragged and broken
at the ends, which only comes in the lifting of heavy bags or
sacks, as seen in postmen, coalmen, etc. My guess from other
palmer signals, was he had been working with bags of vegetables
in a supermarket or farm warehouse. This work is seasonal and
not well paid, so he would only have taken this if nothing more
suitable for his skills was available, and was short of cash.
As it turned out, he had had been working on an organic vegetable
farm to pay for an outdoor fishing holiday.
However he has an extrovert, gregarious, and a good natured
and light hearted disposition, and in particular the length and
straightness of the little finger shows him to have verbal fluency,
as needed by salesmen, persuaders, and negotiators, with the
necessary skills to get jobs done.
The first or Jupiter finger being as long and strong as the
Apollo or third gives an ability to be in charge without being ”bossy”. |
A nice feature is the pointed first
finger, which indicates a spiritual awareness, and care for others,
a good quality for those in management. This allied to the four
small lines under the little finger are known as the “Samaritan
lines” and mean he would care
about the workforce, and would be alive to their problems.
This heart-line (which runs across the palmer top ) is a fine
specimen showing this man sees love making as a mutual act of
giving and receiving human warmth, not as an act of conquest.
This is what is known technically as a full hand, and the diagonal
line that connects the little finger to the base of the lifeline
is often a health indicator, and this one tells of a gastric
sensitivity or weakness, and looks very like Irritable Bowel
Syndrome.
Because he has several pointers to being impatient and impulsive,
I would say he rushes his food, and as the health line hits the
life line at age 55-56 that would be a possible time for something
like an intestinal ulcer or a related gastric problem, as an
allergy line shows here, it could be a wheat allergy, certainly
a vegetarian diet would suit quite well.
The gap in the heart line print which runs across the top of
the hand indicates a certain cardiac stress which is caused by
the faulty diet, and probably eating on the run (typical in managers).
In physical health terms, which is an area of growing interest
for prospective employers, both the gastric and cardiac areas
will need monitoring, and the ragged fate line suggest some spinal
problem, and several factors point to an old thoracic spinal
disc injury, which could be sport related, this was confirmed
by a stiff looking middle or Saturn finger.
Chirognomically he was a lover of travel; mountains and forests
particularly, and was obviously a keen golfer. This shape of hand
heel which is governed by the moon, tells of a water lover and
keen swimmer when young. In short very much an outdoors man.
The body type of this hand is “Mesomorph” which is
a muscular type when young, but tend to weight when older and often
cardiovascular difficulty later, a combination of signals here
says to watch stress, alcohol, diet, stress and cholesterol etc
in mid fifties.
PSYCHOLOGICL PROFILE. This man is an optimist, out going, not
afraid to take risks, he believes money is there to be spent.
He is a warm caring man with two emotional hurts or divorces
behind him and what could be a good relationship with two children
from the first marriage, which was too early on, perhaps at eighteen
years.
I would say the recent time spent away from work, was in emotional
convalescence from the marital break up, because some emotional
constipation is indicated, which may take a while to fully heal.
This mans best is yet to come.
This man has had a recent spell of unemployment and has been
living frugally for about a year, maybe year and a half; he likes
people, has a sense of humor, and is an excellent communicator.
He carries with him some element of the teacher. He radiates
honesty and truthfulness but can at times be undiplomatic.
Twice the panel asked me if he was a team player, and he is
very much so. I was asked also for any impediment, and in some
situations a personal quality can be an asset and in other situations
a hindrance, such as his straight talking, maybe some impulsiveness,
and untidiness. He is inclined to some impatience, and can be
very stubborn, but these are very good hands.
The managing director cautiously asked me if I would employ
him, and I agreed I could work with him, but with his emotional
depth, warmth and sensitivity, I would keep my wife well away! to
howls of laughter from the panel.
He is now a junior director in London, and I got a Christmas
card from him in thanks.
