Maureen Caudill is an Author of Naturally
Intelligent Systems (M.I.T.Press) and In
Our Own Image (Oxford
University Press).
Her fascinating new book points out the fact that all of us
are born with the same powers and talents it takes to be a “psychic.” What
happens to most of us along the way is that we lose sight of those
powers and talents. It’s because of the kind of education,
religion, family upbringing, or a combination of these things,
that we may suppress this natural gift. This book enlightens
us as to ways to recapture that gift and develop it.
We are taught to believe what we see, even when we know that
is not always a good test for facts. (A perfect example: it “looks” as
if the Sun revolves around the Earth.) We are also taught
that psychic powers are not rational, not logical. But there
are things that we know to be true, yet we can’t explain
with logic. Intuition is real, and yet it’s a kind of
psychic power that we all possess.
In Suddenly Psychic, Maureen Caudill demonstrates the power
and impact of science when it is conducted in an open-minded,
questioning way. She experienced altered states of consciousness
that opened up abilities she never could have imagined. By
developing their intuition and psychic gifts, even the most hardened
skeptic can become “suddenly psychic.”
In her book, In Our Own Image, she writes: “I
tried to consider all the aspects of the basic intelligence that
human beings exhibit: the ability to see and interpret what
is viewed to construct a model of the outside world… the
ability to communicate with humans… the ability to solve
pragmatic, real-world problems… the ability to formulate
realistic, doable plans of actions and carry out those plans,
including modifying the plan when unexpected snags occur. These
and other capabilities define intelligence”.
Scientific investigation into these capabilities have lead to
all kinds of advances in developing intelligence in computers
as well as developing our human mental talents.
From my experience, I know that it is relatively easy to develop
your intuition. Here is a good plan that the author lines
out in this book.
1. Start by making yourself feel at home.
2. Use your memories of feelings as images flashing like videos
in your mind.
3. Make it play in your mind like lessons in the course of your
spiritual evolution, and contemplate these visions as the path
to wisdom. This prepares you to attain the sanctuary of inner
peace and the divine place inside of you. This helps you connect
to your intuition and the psychic powers locked within you. |
You will discover that you are suddenly psychic and there will
be TWO talents that will be at your disposal if you follow
the author’s guidelines. “The first is a kind
of passive feeling that consists of developing all your capacities
for intuition which will be surprisingly profound. For
those of you who have already developed your intuition, you
will find that you can go even farther with it. You will
become much more open to perceiving everything in a new way:
the past, the present, and how to project yourself in the future
you conceive. The second is a kind of active feeling that
consists of cultivating the energy that this intuition will
bring you. You will become more ‘magnetic’ with
a mysterious power. You will be able to attract the positive
energies and repel the negative ones.”
The author tells us that one bonus is that “people with
bad energies will be very uncomfortable around you. Don’t
worry if they become angry or upset, the author writes. People
may even make fun of you because they can’t control your
beautiful psychic power… that could make them feel insecure
and even jealous of you.” The negative will fall away
as we simply smile and continue on with our improvement of and
attraction of the positive elements in our lives.
Developing the intuition and the psychic powers will impart
a wisdom and a knowledge. With this knowledge, you will no longer be
a pawn of unrelenting destiny, as some people are. As you
learn more and more of the mysteries, and the divine principles
and virtues, you will become strong enough to use these as keys
for the spiritual evolution that we all seek. Walking your
own spiritual path will assure you of a life of happiness and fulfillment,
while we continue to cultivate our intellect, our personality,
and our spirituality.
We know that the gift of intuition is real and that psychic
energy is within each of us. Start with that foundation and enjoy
this book’s instructions for capturing and developing those
talents. The rewards are boundless. Even the most skeptical
readers will be delighted!
