Herb the Cat
Organics

I, Herb The Cat am sitting here at my computer (a Mac of course) trying to get inspiration for the February column in Oracle 20-20. They are picky and will not let me run a column that I wrote for another magazine. Tell me, how many of you read “Cat health” this month? Not many I guess, especially my article on “Hacking Up Fur Balls”. I am an expert and usually cure the problem with “Entity Releasement”. Those Furballs are Demonic, you know, but if you are a cat, you already know that!

I’m sitting here reading “Organic Gardening because I hope to have them run my article about the cat and natural fertilizer. We are good tillers, you know. There is a good article on the bee crisis in there.

Big farm companies are genetically modifying plants and the outcome is that honey bees have a problem with the pollen. Then there are the killer bees that are invading the hives and the self-confidence issue and, you know- on and on. It’s not a good year for honey bees or their psyche. I’m here to ask for your help with the bee brothers and sisters. The first thing you can do is to adopt a hive. It doesn’t take up much room and you get free honey! What a concept! Something for nothing! It’s great! There are 4,000 species of bees in America alone.

This is a time you can be a racist. Yes, you pick the color, size and “fuzziness” you want and they don’t complain. It’s OK to make a choice. Your consciousness will determine the longevity of your bees. If you think that the killer bees will come in soon and replace the mild honey bees, then look out and grab your bee garb because you will bring them on. However, if you just know that you love your bees and that they will serve you well while you keep them safe from harm and protect their hive, all will go well and the bees will be safe and very productive, making you lots of honey.

There are several rules, however, that you need to remember. The first is the most obvious; don’t spray all your plants and trees with insecticide. Really! It not only kills the honey bees, but also the birds that eat the bugs that destroy the plants. The cure is worse than the disease! Just leave it alone. Then, don’t spray your lawn for insects either. Your dogs as well as the squirrels and birds and BEES will get cancer from this. If your neighbors are spraying their lawns, please educate them, because the lives of my honey makers depend on it. Then EVERYBODY lives. Isn’t that a GREAT concept?
