"The half-moon is illuminated by the unseen sun beyond the horizon on the right, and yet there is a glowing orange light on the left, that cannot then be a sunset - a burning village perhaps, razed to the ground by this serious-looking fellow. What does the barbarian think of himself when he looks in the mirror? Sometimes when the warrior returns from the killing fields, he is celebrated and honored; sometimes he is vilified and hated. Does the soldier think that only luck distinguished one from the other? How can a man act unless he believes his actions are justified in some way? This man has blood on his hands, but to him it is not murder, it is necessity."
