As we usher in a New Year and celebrate
the passage of one more orbit around the sun, we take inventory in
what has transpired in the last year, and look to the future for
new possibilities. The countdown to a new year is but
a mere fraction of time in galactic terms, but it is a symbol of
creation day, 12-21-2012, Hanub Ku, which we are quickly approaching.
Happy New Year, Everyone! Out with the old and in with the new!
Although we use the dilapidated and dis-harmonious Gregorian
calendar, which sets us at odds with the biosphere surrounding us,
the ingenious calendric systems of the Maya concisely and
accurately map vast astronomical cycles. This calendar
is a depiction of the processes of mankind’s evolution,
and it describes how the Omega Point is shaping us out
of creation. As we journey through these cycles of time, some
of us speculate on how quickly our lives pass relative to the slow
moving progression of the stars above us. However, it is these immovable
stars and their astronomical cycles that the Maya codified so
eloquently into their calendars, and they then implemented these
astronomical chronologies as a signpost and guide for our difficult
passage through the chaotic corridors of history.
Modern man is unaware of what is before him, and only finds
existential meaning in life by reflecting on his past experiences and
groping his way toward a hopefully better tomorrow. Nevertheless, with
the calendric system of the Maya, contemporary man can have a better
idea of what lies ahead. The organic nature of the Mayan calendar
properly mirrors the cycles of the universe around us and gives a
reliable expectation of what is to come. It is organic
in that the Holy 260 day Tzolkin calendar reflects the 260 day gestation
period of a human being, and the 13-baktun Long Count reflects the
26,000 year precession of the Equinoxes, which causes us to progress
through one astrological sign every 2000 years. The long
count calendar that commenced on August 12, 3113 B.C. is
said to be the “birth of Venus,” and it culminates
on a Venus transit, or a time when Venus passes directly in
front of the sun, which happens around every 120 years; one
could say that since we both align with galactic center
and have a Venus transit in 2012, the end of the 13-baktun long
count is, metaphorically speaking, Venus giving birth to the
Holy Child, a new paradigm of being. Actually, according to
the Maya, when the galactic alignment occurs with our sun and
the dark rift of the galaxy, the masculine sun impregnates the feminine
dark rift and brings forth Divinty on Creation Day, Hunab

Carl
Johan Calleman posited the intriguing supposition that the calendar
of the Maya was a map and guide for all creation: from the
Big Bang, to mammalian evolution, human civilization, the
industrial revolution, the information age and finally the
awakening of the noosphere. Calleman proposes that the Mayan calendar
and the nine tiered platform of the Mayan pyramids are
delineating the same process. According to his ideology,
we are in the final underworld and only have the apex
of the pyramid to attain. Perhaps, as Carl Johan Calleman
speculates, the time period from 2004 through 2012 will bring forth
the global brain, or noosphere, and awaken Gaia.
Many people are stating that the Mayan calendar prophesizes “THE
END” is coming. Notwithstanding, they are only exhibiting
the anxiety propagated by our fear-ridden culture, and they
are helping none in their desperate cries of doom. It
must always be remembered that the Mayan calendar is cyclical in
nature, and even though there is a linear beginning, middle, and
end, “THE END” is just a “NEW DAY” of
the next cycle of the spiral. So fear not and ignore all
the warnings put forth by all the doomsayers, for they lack
the keen observation and steadfast research that stipulates that
a cosmic embryogenesis is taking place.
Hunab Ku, 12-21-2012, is a CREATION DAY, the Birth of the divine
man from the dark rift of the galactic bulge. This is the
Cosmic Christ, the “spiritual gold” of the alchemist,
the awakening of spiritual man. The start of this New Year is but
a reflection of the start of the “Great Year,” a
processional cycle of 26,000 years, and we should meet both with
the hope and optimism necessary to crystallize the future we
desire. It is incumbent on us to attain this as a collective,
cooperative force.
Jonathan McGregor Bethel and David Colin Healy are both writers
and researchers. They are the founders of Omega Point
Institute, an online magazine and think tank dedicated to the research
and dissemination of information pertaining to esoteric modes
of thought and how those modes are solidifying our
collective future. Whether it is the Technological Singularity,
2012 End Times, or the all encompassing omega point, these two
individuals have much to say to clarify our view of the future. www.omegapoint.org www.JonathanBethel.com |
