It was June, 2006, almost a year
ago that Sherry and John Henderson contacted Linda Ratto, Ed.M..
Sherry and John had returned from their inspiring and spiritually
expanding Spiritual Cinema Cruise lead by Neale Donald Walsch,
NY Times Bestselling author of the Conversations with God (CwG)
books. On that cruise Neale discussed the School of the New Spirituality,
formerly HeartLight Education, Inc., a non-profit education organization
that Neale envisioned over a decade ago and penned in his
books as “HeartLight” education and later the “School
of the New Spirituality (SNS).” Last March, HeartLight was
renamed SNS and refocused on part-time mind-body-spiritual new
spirituality enrichment education rather than day schools, which
were created in 2002-03. Enter the Hendersons.
Taking Neale’s “call to action” initiative
to share the new spirituality with our next generations, Sherry
and John decided to generously donate room in their wonderful
learning center INNER SPACE and The Hoot Owl Book Store, on Allen
Road in Sandy Springs. A wonderful advert was posted in ORACLE
20/20 Magazine last June calling teachers and leaders to Inner
Space for an SNS Meeting and VOILA! SNS – Atlanta was born.
To date there are over a dozen well-trained SNS leaders who have
developed many new spirituality lessons, units and programs for
children.
The team has successfully produced children’s
retreats, weekend enrichment classes and “Tastes of the
New Spirituality” fairs and classes and now, every second
Saturday INNER SPACE hosts SNS “WOWs – Workshops
on Weekends” for age 6 up. SNS leaders offer opportunities
for young people to enjoy dream-making, vision-board creation,
energy and quantum physics workshops, and a host of mind-body-spirit
enrichment encompassing original music by local talent, “minds-as-tools” classes,
delightful and varied meditations, intentioner’s / gratitude
circles, and stress- relief tools from yoga to creative writing
and journaling.
A summer camp is in the works and Dr. Marshall
Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication children’s Peace
Retreats are an SNS – Atlanta team favorite offering that
have now expanded to Columbus, Ohio come November. The Institute
of Noetic Sciences is now an SNS partner and Deepak Chopra just
approved of SNS-Chopra Camps. SNS – ATL at Inner Space
plans be a training center for other SNS Leaders, especially
from our European teammates. |

leaders, along with Neale Donald Walsch, extend a whole-hearted
and loving THANK YOU, SHERRY AND JOHN ! SNS teachers (called
Lead-Learners or “Reachers”) are deeply grateful
for your vision, for your assistance and generous launching of
SNS in Atlanta. From hosting Neale in a private dinner and book-signing
to coincide with the CwG Movie opening here in Sandy Springs/Atlanta
to a metaphysical club at a local high school, from a Peace & Harmony
Children’s Weekend to after school and after hours classes,
cinema circles and book clubs – consider what you and your
children have always dreamed – and come create it with
us for YOUR neighborhood. SNS programs are portable. Call us.
SNS – ATL Co-Director Christina Semple, a senior Communications
and Technology major, plans on making SNS a permanent teaching
career move. From trained counselors, Master educators to PhDs
our leaders of the new spirituality, we are ready to customize
an after school, after hours program that meets your family,
local community, church or school’s needs. SNS is an ecumenical
