So, if there’s enough
for everybody, why do you want mine? The New Age philosophy is
rife with clichés about how we don’t need to be
selfish, how we need to realize that there is really no such
thing as competition. Let Love and Light prevail. While this
may all seem true and good on the surface, I’ve watched
people, who are supposed to be spiritual, virtually claw each
others eyes out over turf wars.
This pettiness and smallness is typical in religious organizations as well. “If
you’re not baptized, don’t confess to the priest, bow to Allah, etc.” you’re
going to hell. No other denomination of Christianity can save you (much less
Judaism, Islam, Buddhism or any other perfectly valid path).” The competition
is on for the souls of the people of the world.
Big Pharm is fighting a turf war for the dollars of those who rely on holistic
medicine. Millions of dollars are spent on lobbying to prevent accessibility
to herbs, supplements, nutrients and complementary health care.
Politicians are crucifying each other daily, even within their own party. ( or
really especially within their own party)
I say can’t we all just get along? Can’t we stop belittling each
other and vying for the almighty dollar, the power, the glory? Why is it that
the more similar the factions appear to be, the more the competition. The greater
glee is shown in the “competitor’s” demise.
If we could all work together, pool our resources, open our hearts and get out
of our fear, have honest communication with each other and a spirit of cooperation,
we could truly change the world. Hunger and illness would be a thing of the past.
We would have no wars. We could manifest heaven on earth. But as long as we continue
to be filled with fear, hate, and a spirit of competition against each other,
we will continue the downward spiral of lack, disease, and violence.
Can’t we all just get along?
Let’s make a pact for peace. Even if it is a secret, in your own heart,
make a pact that you will work for the betterment of everyone, that you will
not glee in the demise of a competitor, that you will help your fellow humans,
whether they are helping you or not.
Let’s give thanks for everyone and everything on the planet. Remember “You
are a child of the Universe, no less than the trees and stars, you have a right
to be here” and so does everyone else. Sherry
