MEMOIRS OF A PSYCHIC SPY:
The Remarkable Life of U.S.
Government Remote Viewer 001 by Joseph McMoneagle
Book Review by Marie Claire Wilson
Joseph McMoneagle is widely known
as the best Operational Remote Viewer in the history of the U.S.
Army, for the Army’s Special Project called Star Gate. The
results of his intelligence collection have never been surpassed
and rarely have they been equaled. Not only did I find this subject
to be thrilling, but this book incites curiosity, especially because
it is based on real life experience through information that is
rarely revealed to the public. Let’s face it, it’s
also a subject that brings to mind the magical feats achieved -
as far as most of know - only in science fiction. He and his work
have been featured in Newsweek, Time, Reader’s Digest, on
ABC’s Nightline and CBS’s 48 hours, and on prime-time
British and Japanese television. McMoneagle is the author Mind
Trek: Exploring Consciousness Time, and Space through Remote Viewing
(1993-1997), The Ultimate Time Machine: A Remote Viewer’s
Perception of Time, and Predictions for the New Millennium (1998),
and Remote Viewing Secrets: A Handbook (2000).
Joseph McMoneagle has exceptional psychic abilities that
have enabled him to be immensely successful in the U. S. Army’s
special project for government intelligence gathering.
Among his specific accomplishments:
1. He described the interior of a top-secret Soviet manufacturing
plant, and he accurately predicted a new class of submarine under
construction there.
2. He sketched the location of a kidnapped U.S. Army General
who was being held by the Red Brigade in Northern Italy. He
also described the thoughts of this kidnapped U.S. Army General.
3. He accurately predicted nearly a year in advance of when
Skylab would leave orbit, as well as accurately predicting where
it would impact on the Earth’s surface.
4. After conventional reconnaissance failed to locate a downed
Soviet bomber that had been carrying nuclear materials, he and
others in his group were able successfully locate it.
This book is an autobiography of a man whose life is truly spectacular,
the stuff of myths and legends. It also reflects the great
courage it took to write about them. It is fascinating to
speculate on how this kind of psychic ability could achieve so
much. The author’s easy and genial style describes how
this was brought about. Here is a sample of the this talent,
where early in the book, he describes a near-death experience:
“While I was assigned to Pocking as the detachment commander
in 1970, I experienced something that changed me profoundly and
permanently. I had what can be called a classic Near Death
Experience (NDE)…The emergency room receded, growing smaller
and dimmer in the distance as I accelerated downward into a tunnel. As
it [the emergency room] faded from sight, I attempted to turn my
attention to where I was falling [into the tunnel]. But I
seemed to lose focus at that point. I was suddenly feeling
very warm all over, especially across the back of my neck. A
tingling sensation washed over my entire being, almost like an
electrical charge, but it wasn’t at all unpleasant. The
feeling kept growing inside me, until suddenly I entered a new
space, which was filled with the whitest and brightest light that
I have ever experienced. I was overwhelmed with the sudden
sense of joy, comfort, and love. I felt as though I had finally
reached the ultimate destination, the one place where I could feel
whole and complete, where I could simply be without any conditions,
needs, or wants. I then found myself reviewing my entire lifetime,
good and bad. I also experienced all the non-constructive
and non-creative aspects of my life up until that moment in time.”
The preceding passage is particularly fascinating because of the
author’s style, so that we can see through the eyes of the
author and almost experience his “astral voyage” with
him, he goes on to tell us how those who are like us will appear
to us, and we will feel as if we are in a continuous stream of sending
and receiving forces that are in the form of luminous rays in every
direction.
From what he writes in this part of the book, we can also see then
that the aura and the brain would be the center of these active combinations
of sending and receiving. This is also where thoughts, which do not
seem to be similar or linked at all, suddenly find connections, they
penetrate each other and blend with each other. The author’s
experience was like a video that replayed itself. He seems
to say that every event, no matter how small, happens for a reason;
and that this moment was not his time to die. But it definitely
was his time to take a marvelous astral voyage, to experience his
life through near death and to share it with the world through his
books.
He explains that every one of us and every living being, without exception, must
go through a series of stages in life that begin with a complete unconsciousness
of the source of our life. This succession of steps must be lived, and we
must go through them in various states of matter.
This begins with the most subtle
and faint forms of matter, which is the primordial substance. As
we progress, we are becoming and living in more and more dense
forms of matter, until we make it into the physical form. Then,
after multiple experiences and with a growing consciousness about
the source, the spiritual elements will begin to disengage little
by little. As the spiritual elements evolve from the physical
matter, in essence, they return, due to our evolution, back to
the first Source, which is identical to the Supreme Being. This
is where we become one with the universal consciousness and one
with the cosmos, where we re-unite with the Source.
Predicting the future corresponds to the dia-physical reading of
an energetic and subjective program that progressively becomes
objective. That is to say, it takes form and consciousness
in the events of every day. In human thought, the predetermination
of destiny is the true fundamental question. In effect, what
is it that determines the specialized limitations of each cell
of the body according to the function, when all of these cells
come from the embryonic form?
All of the combinations of intracellular chromosomes are what it
takes to make each individual. So these combinations must
be coordinated with a view to the future adaptations needed, by
a force that is directing all of this, a force precognizant, that
is, with foreknowledge of that future and those needed adaptations
and events.
The author of this book has been challenged frequently since his
book was published. It is well known that he did not follow
an ordinary kind of life because from the beginning, he knew that
he lived life differently from others, and he has suffered much
criticism and rejection because of it.
Here is an example of his extraordinary life experience taken from
Mind Trek and Searches:
“After the exposure of the Star Gate program [which appeared
on the TV program] on “Nightline” in November 1995,
I was heavily criticized by a number of people who said that I
should not have written about the military use of remote viewing. Of
course, these people would not have been facing severe disciplinary
action and significant time in jail. I did make a point of
sharing all that I was allowed to share - whatever was learned
in the open or unclassified area of our lab efforts and studies. I
also shared a great deal of information about remote viewing as
well as some of my own theories about how it might or might not
work. Some of these theories have proven to be more accurate
than not, and some have been dead end issues.”
This autobiography has appeared at the right time, right now, when
it was supposed to, at this precise moment when humanity (which
is not doing so well at the moment) needs something to help it
break through to the next decisive step of our collective evolution.
Humans actually create our own misery and pain through ignorance
of paranormal phenomena and ignorance of the universal cosmic
laws, and because of erroneous ideas that become fixed both on
an individual and collective level. The wide variety of thought,
education, occupations, cultures, and ethnicities creates a world
of illusion at the same time as the consecutive reflexive acts
that go with this illusory quality that accompanies it. All
of these reflexive acts, these habits, these psychological tendencies
prepare our future across time. The sensation or feeling,
and thus the manifestation of thought, that is therefore the reflex
of that thought.
Time does not erase anything. Everything that is lived, felt,
and thought makes a gradual outline on the organic blueprint of
the next life. Each incarnation that follows feels and knows
(on some level) the repercussions in an extraordinary duality:
one is all organic in its cellular juxtaposition, the other is
all psychological in its objective realization through the senses.
All of these spectacular predictions have appeared as in a cinematographic
film that is also poly-sensorial, projected by the author on the
screen of the relative physical world. The effect is that
these translations then go on to elaborate the future world, also
psychological, filling it throughout with large social and intellectual
currents. It’s in these large currents where the world
(and this includes the military world) will bring to fruition its
personalized destiny that has been programmed at the heart of the
collective evolution.
“Memoirs of a Psychic Spy” presents us with a fairly
unique reality that stands up well even to relative objectivity.
As for myself, there was a deep, intuitive feeling that enveloped
me after reading this book. I believe that it will similarly
touch all those who read it. The author deserves kudos for
writing such a brave book, both for showing proof of an exceptional
psychic ability as well as for demonstrating courage. And
courage is one of the most noble of all the virtues, especially
from a spiritual point of view.
