It’s always
exciting as the cool air starts to stir when you walk out of
the house in the morning. We’ve had so many hot muggy days
at the end of the summer, I think everyone is really looking
forward to putting on a sweater and building a fire. At least
I’m looking forward to it.
As the equinox is rapidly approaching, I can’t help but think
back over this year with wonder and sadness that it’s three
quarters over. This has been an amazing year for all of us here
at Oracle 20/20 Magazine. So many things have changed and I have
watched as people’s dreams were fulfilled and they moved
on. It seems like John & I are fixtures, like the building
and the furniture. It seems that we are never changing in some
ways, yet in others, I look back over the past for months and see
radical changes in myself. Never mind about the gray hair that
is showing through in spite of everything!
I suppose it’s this time of year that brings a sense of starting
over in some way, of fresh beginnings. Most of us here grew up
when school started after Labor Day, so it’s traditional
that this is the time for fresh starts, meeting the new teacher,
maybe even changing schools. There’s a sense of excitement
with the chill in the morning air.
I hope that all of you are finding that sense of excitement, that
sense of adventure that is life. It is a world in which we can
truly create so many things for ourselves. Each one of us is a
powerful creator. The teachings that have become prevalent lately
(they’ve been around for years, wonder why we’re just
now hearing what they have to say) teach us to focus on the positive,
the joy, and in alignment with the Eastern sages recommend that
we live in “bliss”. It’s easier some days than
others to be in that blissful state.
We continue to face challenges from the outside world. We must
live and work in the “real world”, but, I say to you,
the “real world” is the world inside our heads and
inside our hearts.
This doesn’t mean to hide our heads in the sand, rather recognize
the reality around us and decide to make it a beautiful reality
even if it’s necessary to endure some discomfort. Someone
once said. Pain is inevitable - Suffering is optional.
