I bet every
one of you reading this column (both of you) have read or heard of
the book Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch. What will excite
all of you that don’t know is that it is being made into a movie.
This book that has touched so many and has sold millions and been translated
into most languages, will now be available in a movie for you to share.
The Inner Space and the Oracle 20-20 magazine have been chosen to be
the hosts in Atlanta. It will be right here, in Sandy Springs with
personal appearances of Neale Donald Walsch and the producer and director,
Stephen Simon. The editor will be announcing the date of the movie
this fall in the Oracle 20-20, so stay tuned, kitties!
So what does this have to do with Herb The Cat? Well, now that you asked, ‘Ole
Herb was asked to represent Oracle 20-20 magazine along with it’s
editor at the preview screening. That’s nice, you say, but so what?
Well!!!! This screening just happened to be taking place on a 7-day cruise
with the Spiritual Cinema Circle that previewed over a dozen movies and
shorts! Well, somebody had to sacrifice themselves and being the writer
of the longest running column in Oracle 20-20, the mantle fell on my
shoulders. The first day, after a hearty and delicious breakfast, we
saw a great movie that I will review later. After the movie, it was up
on deck to a hearty and delicious lunch and a catnap around the pool.
Then after hearty and delicious afternoon snacks around the hot tub (I
did not know there were that many different flavors of ice cream and
cookies of which pistachio – catnip was my favorite), it was back
to the movies again. It went on that way every day except when we were
in a Mexican port.
Speaking
of Mexican ports, did you know that you could get ANY prescription
drug just by walking into a pharmacy and asking for it? Since you never
know what you will get in some of the ports sometimes, I got 100 of
500-milligram antibiotics for twenty American dollars. In the states
they are a dollar or more each. Now that I am back home, the doctor
says that I should start taking them, I don’t understand why,
unless it has something to do with the dance contest I won with Maria
at the Cabo Wabo bar in Cabo that Thursday night. Boy did I show them.
Yes, a cool cat can drink twenty double frozen Margaritas with double
salt! The bar was so nice to send me to the next port when I missed
the boat. Oh, well!
The most memorable part of the trip was to be in the presence of the
350 people who are interested in spiritual movies and to become real
buds with my main man Neale. He was such a terrific person to forgive
me for putting Margarita number 21 on his shoes. It must have been the
salt.
Herb
the cat is a freelance writer, who writes for Oracle 20-20 and all
the magazines that matter, prefers to watch only wholesome movies
and promises never try to drink Margarita number
21 again.
