Today, it is more important than ever that WOMEN step
into their spiritual power. For this to happen, sacred space must
be created so that all unsacred aspects of the self can be witnessed
and healed. This can be done in meditation or in a circle of women.
A women’s circle is a group of women gathered together to support
each other emotionally and spiritually. They come in many forms.
A circle can be three women gathered to lend an empathetic ear to
each other or twenty women meeting at a given time and place on a
regular basis and focused on a particular theme. It is especially
important for women to be witnessed and validated by other women
because so often our experiences, feelings, and needs are invalidated
by our culture and the people who are close to us.
Jean Shinoda Bolen’s book, The Millionth Circle, is an excellent
place to start building an understanding of the importance of women’s
circles. The Millionth Circle idea states that when a critical number
of people change how they think and act, a new consciousness will
prevail. According to this quote from www.millionthcircle.org “A
proliferation of circles with a spiritual center becomes a worldwide
healing force by bringing feminine values of relationship, nurturing,
and interdependency into a global culture in which hierarchy, conflict
and competition, power over others and exploitation of the earth’s
resources are dominant values. Our aim is to celebrate the millionth
circle as an idea whose time has come.”
Women’s circles represent a safe haven in a chaotic world.
The circle that I was involved in was life-changing, enlightening,
and enlivening for me.
For the first time in my life, I felt
seen and heard on a very deep level. In telling my spiritual story,
I reconnected with some of my lost parts. I uncovered my life’s
soul purpose from the masculine and feminine perspective. I now understand
the importance of honoring the divine feminine and divine masculine
within me and keeping these in balance. The women in my circle reflected
my beauty back to me in ways that allowed me to acknowledge their
magnificence and my own.
It is so important that women learn to trust each other and come
together to share their stories. There is strength and power in women’s
stories. And magic happens whenever women come together with intentions
of honoring their sacred selves. Within the circle, I have been fully
supported in burning the illusions that were keeping me from creating
the life I desire. And I have found a place to express my greatest
gift, the love of helping people reach their highest potential. I
am so grateful to reclaim my spiritual authority. I am also grateful
to know that as more and more women gather in circles, together we
will save the world. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens
can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” -
Margaret Mead
